Home Learning

As we continue to strive for excellence in our school community, your support at home is invaluable. Here are some ways you can help your child with their learning:

1. Reading Together: Daily Reading: Encourage your child to read every day. For younger children, reading to them or listening to them read regularly can significantly boost their literacy skills. Accelerated Reader Programme: Utilize the Accelerated Reader programme to track your child's reading progress and help them choose books that match their reading level.

2. Phonics Practice: For children in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2, phonics is a crucial part of their learning. Spend time practicing phonics sounds and blending words together. There are many online resources and games that can make this fun and engaging.

3. Maths Skills: Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS): This platform is a fantastic way for children to practice their times tables in a fun and interactive way. Regular practice can help improve their speed and accuracy.

4. Homework Support: Create a quiet, dedicated space for your child to complete their homework. Be available to help them if they have questions, but encourage them to try solving problems on their own first.

5. Encouraging Curiosity: Foster a love of learning by encouraging your child to ask questions and explore topics that interest them. This can be through books, educational videos, or even family outings to places like museums or nature reserves.

6. Positive Reinforcement: Celebrate your child's achievements, no matter how small. Positive reinforcement can boost their confidence and motivate them to keep trying their best.

By working together, we can ensure that our children have the support they need to succeed both in school and at home. Thank you for your continued partnership and dedication to your child's education.
