We are proud to be working towards being accredited with the bronze award for Emotionally Friendly Schools (EFS).
This year we are also excited to launch the My Happy Mind programme which promotes a positive wellbeing culture in which children build resilience, self-esteem and character. My Happy Mind uses the latest science, research and technology to help children develop lifelong habits and learn to thrive.
Emotionally Friendly Settings
St Thomas’s are pleased to inform you that as a school we are working towards being accredited the bronze award for Emotionally Friendly Schools. By adopting a whole school approach, we can ensure that wellbeing is central to everything that we do.
Emotionally Friendly Schools (EFS) is an initiative developed by Salford Educational Psychology Service in collaboration with schools. The aim of this process is promote positive emotional wellbeing in school and identify and support any difficulties that arise early.
The EFS process focuses on 4 key areas:
• Staff Wellbeing and School Ethos
• Classroom Practice
• Assessing Children’s Needs
• Supporting Individual Children
We are continuing to work hard to make sure that St Thomas’s is an emotionally friendly school. We are striving to ensure that your child’s emotional wellbeing is looked after and supported.
As ever please contact your child’s class teacher as the first step if you are concerned about your child’s emotional wellbeing.
